In this brick bungalow, we remodeled the living room area by exposing two brick walls and built a custom fireplace mantel, hearth and shelving unit. The shelving was made of cherry wood with a concrete mantel and inset hearth. A gas fireplace was placed in the old fireplace area. We also added skylights to the upstairs, a custom in-wall stereo cabinet and replaced the front picture window.
About a year later we were hired to design and remodel the kitchen. We exposed another brick wall and built a custom bar top/island combination. Glass tiles were inset in the top and sides of the concrete and a metal leg was built for one end. Hickory cabinets and Corrian countertops were installed as well as a custom shelving unit where an old window was previously.
